Chip Merritt and I decided last year to buy the highest percentage Blue Valentine stud that would met our criteria to preserve the Blue Valentine bloodlines. We were determined to buy the best horse we could find. We purchased Blue Valentine Two in February of 2006 and are extremely pleased to add him to both of our stallion barns. We both had bred mares to him in the past and we liked his colts so well; we felt it was time to own him.

Every horse in Blue Valentine Two’s pedigree for two generations were owned by the Merritt family and we knew every one of them and they were outstanding horses. Not only does Blue Valentine Two have one of the best pedigrees we could find but he has one of the most gentle dispositions that can be found in a stallion. In addition, he’s got a lot of athletic ability and stands on good bone. We will offer to breed a limited number of mares with frozen semen this year. Price of semen for Blue Valentine Two is $1,500.
